Eclectic L.A. Adventures

After a year and a quarter of UCLA, Chloe and I decided to make a “L.A. bucket list.”  This is a list of all the things we want to do in L.A. before we graduate.  A more detailed post about the bucket list will be coming soon.

This weekend we went to Abbot Kinney.  It’s a cute artsy street in the Venice area.  It’s fun to get out of Westwood for a little while and see new parts of the city.  Abbot Kinney has a very artsy/bohemian vibe too it.  There are a lot of Buddhist yoga shops, fair trade coffee stores, and home-made jewelry boutiques.

Their was this one store though that looked like of something out of Harry Potter.  It was an amazing shop with headless mannequins in the window, strange clocks on the wall, stacks of tea cups, and vases full of sea shells.  I spent a good 30 mins in their shoots because it was just so eclectic, crazy and interesting!

This was a shopping cart outside the store with gardening pots in it…

Headless mannequins in the front window of the shop.  It kind of has an eerie feel to it as a black and white photo.

Chandelier from the perspective of standing directly underneath it and shooting up.

Tea anyone?

I love taking detail shots because often times details are lost in “big picture.”  Also details can often stand alone and give a different message than the big picture.  The sand dollars could be on beach or in a crazy store…you don’t know.  But as far as big pictures go, below is a full photo of the store.  This way you get the full effect of the store.
